IT Resource Management with
emphasis on iSeries [ASM-R3]
Duration: 4 days
- Audience:
- IT Business Managment
-
- Description:
- The attendee will learn a process for managing IT resourses.
While the background material is system independent, this
class will focus on iSeries specific tools. The tools will
be used to learn an on-going process to manage system resources
and to analyze specific problems and upgrade issues.
The class will analyze the factors that constrain the IT resource.
The process learned in this class will apply to all priority-driven
multitasking operating systems, i.e, OS/400, NT/Windows 2000,
Unix, and mainframe systems. OS/400 specifics such as dynamic
logical partitions (LPARs) require careful allocation of resource
to partitions. " The workload requirements must be understood
and the resource allocated appropriately." (IBM manual
on LPARs) Otherwise, the efficiency of the partition can be
adversely impacted.
This class is a workshop where the student may bring their
own system's performance data to class and through the labs
analyze their own data. At the end of the workshop the student
will learn a process for efficiently managing and analyzing
the capacity of their IT resources.
