IT Business management class
for non IT Managers [ASM-B3]
Duration: 3 days
- Audience:
- Business Managers
-
- Description:
- The attendee will learn a process for managing IT resourses.
While the background material is system independent, this
class will focus on iSeries specific tools. The tools will
be used to learn an on-going process to manage system resources
and to analyze specific problems.
The class will review the factors that constrain the IT resource.
The process learned in this class will apply to all priority-driven
multitasking operating systems, i.e, OS/400, NT/Windows 2000,
Unix, and mainframe systems. OS/400 specifics like dynamic
logical partitions (LPars) require careful allocation of resource
to partitions. " The workload requirements must be understood
and the resource allocated appropriately." (IBM manual on
Lpars) Otherwise, the efficiency of the partition can be adversely
impacted.
This class is a workshop where the students are invited to
bring their own system's performance data to class and through
the labs review their own data. The goal of the workshop is
to learn a process for efficiently managing the capacity of
their IT resources.
